Finding Text

The county is required to, per internal policy, to complete at least 2 cases per caseworker per month and maintain a summarized record of the cases reviewed, which in FY23 would be a total of 48 cases. The County was unable to provide a comprehensive list of second party reviews performed, however they were able to provide approximately 40 second party reviews completed during FY23, which is 84% of the total 48 required.

Corrective Action Plan

Work First quality assurance reviews will be completed as outlined in Administravtive Letter 7-2018 dated July 18, 2018. County will use State-developed second party review worksheets which will be used in all quality reviews. At application and recertification, at least 25% of the cases will be reviewed for quality assurance monthly. These cases will be randomly selected each month by the Economic Services Division Director or Program Manager. Supervisor will review case files monthly. If errors are found, caseworkers will be notified of needed corrections. The caseworker will be given a timeframe to correct the error. Once the corrections are made, the supervisor will sign off that the case file is correct and free of any errors. All of this information will be maintained on a County-developed spreadsheet that serves as a tracking log. The tracking log spreadsheet and the completed second party review checklists will be stored electronically in a secure shared folder accessible by supervisor and managers. The Economic Services Program Manager or Division Director will review Second Party Logs to ensure supervisor is completing second-party reviews timely, documenting errors cited, and noting error corrections.
