Condition: The meal counts for September 2021 and January 2022 were inaccurate and overclaimed breakfasts by 3,257 and lunches by 101, respectively. Context: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the District was short on staff to accommodate the number of students filtering through the lunchroom. The District was using manual tally sheets to speed up the process and move students through the line quicker for social distancing. Effect: The District is at risk of jeopardizing the continued funding provided by the federal agencies. Cause: Inadequate documentation led to the overclaim.
