Corrective Action Plan

Finding number: 2022-001 Federal agency: U.S. Department of Education Programs: Student Financial Assistance Cluster CFDA #: 84.063 and 84.268 Award year: 2022 Corrective Action Plan: The University evaluated the student records in this finding to determine why the dates from COD differed from the disbursement date on the student?s account. The University found the date of disbursement on COD matched the date when the Student Financial Services Office received the COD disbursement response file and generated the disbursement report from its financial aid system (PowerFAIDS). However, when the disbursement file was uploaded from PowerFAIDS to the student accounts via Jenzabar, the University discovered the Jenzabar system changed the date of disbursement when applying the funds to student accounts. The University is working with a representative from Jenzabar to determine why this software system changed the date of disbursement when applying the Title IV funds to student accounts. Upon the review of student records in this finding, the University found the COD disbursement dates matched the disbursement roster dates generated by the Student Financial Services Office. Jenzabar applied the funds from the generated rosters to the student accounts but applied a different date from the date on the disbursement file. The University believes this to be a systems issue with Jenzabar and is researching why this occurred. The University reviewed disbursements in the 2022-2023 academic year and found no instances of this occurring as the disbursement dates on COD matched the date applied to student accounts.
