Title: 1. Basis Of Presentation Accounting Policies: Expenditures reported on the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting, as described in Note 2 of the financial statements. Such expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are now allowed or limited as to reimbursement. Pass through identifying numbers are presented where available. De Minimis Rate Used: N Rate Explanation: Association has elected to use their approved indirect cost rate. The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (the Schedule) presents the activity of all federal award programs of American Lung Association (the Association) for the year ended June 30, 2023. The information on the Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Therefore, some amounts presented in the Schedule may differ from amounts presented in, or used in the preparation of, the financial statements. For the purpose of the Schedule, federal awards include grants and contracts entered into directly between the Association and agencies and departments of the federal government or passed through other government agencies or other organizations.

Pass through identifying numbers are presented where available. De Minimis Rate Used: N Rate Explanation: Association has elected to use their approved indirect cost rate. The Association did not receive any non-cash assistance through federal awards during the year ended June 30, 2023. In addition, there was no federal insurance in effect during the year, nor any federal loans or loan guarantees outstanding at year end.
