1. The federal awards passed through the Berks County Intermediate Unit under the U.S. Department of Education heading, is part of a consortium of participating school districts. In accordance with directions from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, these awards are reported on the basic financial statements as local source revenue. 2. The Federal Grants were passed through the following entities in the totals below: "See Notes to the SEFA for table/chart". 3. The District received non-monetary assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture of $60,030 in the form of commodities. These commodities are valued at U.S.D.A.’s approximate costs. During the 2021-22 fiscal year, the District used $62,079 in commodities and established a year-end inventory of $1,048 at June 30, 2022. 4. The amount recognized as revenue in the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards, under the U.S. Department of Agriculture heading, represents the commodities used, versus the commodities received, which are recognized as revenue in the financial statements. 5. Of the $543,004 in expenditures reported for the ARP-ESSER grant, $13,489 were incurred in the prior fiscal year. 6. The $1,672 reported in the Accrued or (Deferred) column as of June 30, 2022 is an overpayment by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for the Title II Program. This amount is owed back to PDE as of June 30, 2022: "See Notes to the SEFA for chart/table."
