The Child Nutrition Unit (CNU), which is part of the Arkansas Department of Education,
performed an Administrative Review for the School’s Child Nutrition Program on January 6, 2023. The
Administrative Review revealed ongoing verification violations by the program that continued to be out
of compliance during the 2023 fiscal year in a letter to the School on January 27, 2023. The School failed
to use the correct sampling method, did not prioritize error prone applications for selections, did not
perform a confirmation review of the selected applications, did not use notification letters that were preapproved
as part of the annual CNU Agreement, failed to provide proof of income for the selected
applications, and did not maintain sufficient documentation of the verification process.
