Title: Child Nutrition Program Accounting Policies: The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards includes the federal grant activity of the Board and is presented on the cash basis of accounting. The information in this schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of the Uniform Guidance. Therefore, some amounts presented in this schedule may differ from amounts presented in, or used in preparation of, the financial statements. De Minimis Rate Used: N Rate Explanation: The Board has not elected to use the 10-percent de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under the Uniform Guidance. Child Nutrition Program [Assistance Listing #10.555, #10.559, and #10.582] expenditures of federal awards are based on the amount of federal funding received for each of the programs. Since the amount of total expenditures for the programs exceeds the amount of the federal awards received, it is presumed that the total received from the federal awards has been expended. The amount of expenditures funded by meal sales, sponsor's contributions and state matching funds for both programs has not been included in the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards. The total combined expenditures for the three programs as funded from all sources was $7,893,416.

Donated food distribution represents surplus agricultural commodities received from the U.S. Department of Agriculture passed through from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. Commodities are valued based on amounts as established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. For the year ended June 30, 2022 total value of the donated food inventories was $277,305, which is included in the Child Nutrition cluster of programs.
