Accounting Policies: EXPENDITURES OF FEDERAL AWARDS GeneralThe accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards includes the federal grant activityof Colorado Legal Services (CLS). All federal financial assistance received by the reportingentity directly from federal agencies, as well as federal financial assistance passed through othergovernment agencies, is included on the schedule. There were no federal awards passed throughto sub recipients in the current year. Basis of presentationThe accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards is presented using the accrualbasis of accounting. The information in this schedule is presented in accordance with therequirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, UniformAdministrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards. Therefore, some amounts presented in this schedule may differ from amounts presented in, orused in the preparation of, the basic financial statements. Federal financial assistance provided tosubrecipients is treated as an expenditure when it is paid to the subrecipient. Cost AllocationCLS uses the deminis cost rate of 10% to allocate indirect costs to Federal programs.
