On September 18, 2022, Puerto Rico was directly impacted by Hurricane Fiona causing a level of widespread destruction in many areas of the island including infrastructure, housing, environment, and public and private property. As a result of the massive impact of the hurricane, a series of actions and events have been taken by the Federal Government.A major disaster declaration, FEMA-4671-DR-PR, was signed by the President of the United States on September 21, 2022. Under this declaration, all 78 Municipalities of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico have been designated adversely affected by the disaster and eligible for Federal Assistance. Furthermore, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget granted a six-month extension for all single audits that cover recipients in Puerto Rico and have due dates between September 18, 2022 and December 31, 2022. Costa Salud benefited from this extension.
