Notes to SEFA
Karidat was granted a nonprofit organization charter by the Governor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) on May 8, 1980. Karidat has been designated by the Office of the Governor as a sub-grantee for federal grants that further the purpose of Karidat to promote the welfare of the people of the CNMI. All projects of Karidat funded either directly by U.S. Federal agencies or passed through the CNMI, are in the scope of the Uniform Guidance audit.
The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards includes the federal grant activity of Karidat and is presented on the accrual basis of accounting. The information in this schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements of Federal Awards. Therefore, some amounts presented in this schedule may differ from amounts presented in, or used in the preparation of, the basic financial statements.
Karidat did not elect to use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate.
