Notes to SEFA
The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (SEFA) summarizes the expenditures of ASIAN UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN (AUW) under programs of the federal government for the year ended June 30, 2025 in accordance with the provisions of United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Code of Federal Regulations Part 200 Subpart F “Audit Requirements”. The Schedule is not meant to and does not reflect the financial position or changes in net assets and cash flows of the Centre. Some amounts presented in the schedule may differ from amounts presented in the financial statements. SEFA reports expenditure reported or reportable to donors whereas financial statement deals with expenditure incurred during the period. For purposes of the Schedule, Federal awards include all grants, contracts, and similar agreements entered into directly between the AUW and agencies and departments of the federal government and all sub-awards to the AUW by nonfederal organizations pursuant to federal grants, contracts, and similar agreements. Pass-through numbers and CFDA numbers are presented where available.
Expenditures are reported in the schedule based on the modified cash basis of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Such expenditures for reimbursement awards are using the cost principles outlined in CFR 2 Part 200 Subpart E “Cost Principles”. Under these cost principles, certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. Expenditures for fixed amount awards are based on revenue received during the year.
Programs are presented by a federal agency. Pass-through Awards have been presented by pass-through entitles. When CFDA numbers are not available, the federal awards are presented by the number shown as the awarding agency’s two-digit prefix followed by pass-through ID. For classification and compliance requirement purposes, federal programs are grouped into clusters and audited as one major program.
The grants reported are administered directly by the Centre and the balances and transactions relating to these programs are included in the Centre´s basic financial statements.
