Notes to SEFA

The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards has been prepared as required under Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). The purpose of the schedule is to present a summary of those activities of Jacksonville University (the "University") for the year ended June 30, 2025. For purposes of the schedule, federal awards include any assistance provided by a federal agency directly or indirectly in the form of grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, direct appropriations, loans and loan guarantees, and other noncash assistance. Because the schedule presents only a selected portion of the activities of the University, it is not intended to, and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of the University. Expenditures reported on the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting. Such expenditures are recognized following the cost principle contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. The University has elected not to use the 10-percent de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under the Uniform Guidance.
As of June 30, 2025, the University had $178,411 in loans receivable from participating students related to the Federal Perkins Loan Program.
The University did not receive noncash assistance or have Federal insurance in effect during the fiscal year.
