The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the Schedule) includes the federal award activity of New England Institute of Technology under programs of the federal government for the year ended June 30, 2025. The information in this schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of New England Institute of Technology, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of New England Institute of Technology.
New England Institute of Technology disbursed $17,089,997 in loans during the year ended June 30, 2025 under the Federal Direct Loan Program. These loans were not made by the Institute and are considered to be non-cash federal awards expended.

Finding Details

Finding – Special Reporting: Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP) - Federal Work Study Program, Assistance Listing Number 84.033, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants Program, Assistance Listing Number 84.007; June 30, 2025 Award Year; U.S. Department of Education Criteria or Specific Requirement By October 1st of each year (or the date established by a Federal Register announcement), an institution must electronically submit its FISAP via the COD website. The Fiscal Operations Report will cover the most recently completed award year (award years run from July 1 to June 30) and the Application to Participate is for the award year subsequent to the current award year. Condition The graduate enrollment figure at Section D line 7(b) included an additional 51 non-graduate students on the FISAP submitted on September 29, 2025. Cause The enrollment information was obtained from a query from the system and management did not review the system report to verify that the enrollment figures listed the appropriate students. Effect An incorrect number of graduate students was reported on the initially filed FISAP. New England Institute of Technology submitted a corrected FISAP on December 9, 2025. Questioned Costs None. Identification as a Repeat Finding Not a repeat finding. Recommendation New England Institute of Technology should designate an individual to review the underlying reports to verify the accuracy and completeness of the enrollment information that is reported on the FISAP.
