Notes to SEFA
The schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the “Schedule”) includes the grant activity of Texas Trees Foundation (the “Foundation”) under programs of the federal government for the year ended December 31, 2024. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance) – Sub part E, Cost Principles, (the “Uniform Guidance”).
Expenditures reported on the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting. Such expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. Negative amounts shown on the Schedule represent adjustments or credits made in the normal course of business to amounts reported as expenditures in prior years. For purposes of the Schedule, federal awards include all grants, contracts and similar agreements entered into directly between the Foundation and agencies and departments of the federal government and all subawards passed through to the Foundation by nonfederal organizations pursuant to federal grants, contracts and similar agreements. Pass-through entity identifying numbers are presented where available. The Foundation did not receive any non-cash assistance from federal awards for the year ended December 31, 2024.
The Foundation applies its predetermined approved facilities and administrative rate when charging indirect costs to federal awards rather than the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate as allowed under Uniform Guidance.
