Notes to SEFA

The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (the Schedule) summarizes the expenditures of Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and Affiliates (DUI) under programs of the federal government for the year ended June 30, 2025 and is presented on the accrual basis of accounting. The information in the Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of State of Tennessee Financial Assistance is a summary of expenditures of DUI funded by the State of Tennessee, which is included as required by the State of Tennessee. For purposes of the Schedule, federal awards include all grants, contracts, and similar agreements entered into directly between DUI and agencies and departments of the federal government and all subawards to DUI by nonfederal organizations pursuant to federal grants, contracts, and similar agreements. Direct costs and facilities and administrative costs are charged to awards in accordance with cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance. Under these cost principles, certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. For the year ended June 30, 2025, DUI negotiated a fixed facilities and administrative cost reimbursement rate of 12.55%. For the year ended June 30, 2025, DUI did not elect to use the 10% De Minimis Indirect Cost Rate permitted by Uniform Guidance as a negotiated indirect cost rate existed on all grants where indirect costs are applicable. DUI did not expend any federal funds to support loan programs or loan guarantee programs. DUI does not have federal loan balances outstanding as of June 30, 2025.
