The major Federal award programs selected for testing are as follows: U.S. Department of Education - Title I, Part A - Basic Grants to Local Educational Agencies The requirements of the Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance prescribe that all major programs as determined by the auditor on a risk-based approach and/or at least 40% (20% for low-risk auditees) of all federal awards be subject to specific control and compliance testing. For the Creative Minds International Public Charter School, the programs subject to these requirements are as listed above. The total expenditures of these programs represent 26.34% of the total federal expenditures.
I. U.S. Department of Education 1) Title 1, Part A - Grants to Local Educational Agencies Title 1, Part A (Title 1) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA), provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging academic standards. The purpose of the Title 1 funding is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.
