Notes to SEFA
The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal and state awards (“SEFSA” or “Schedule”) includes the federal and state grant activity of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, Inc. and Affiliate (the “Organization”), under the programs of the federal and state government for the year ended June 30, 2025. The information in this SEFSA is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards and the NC GS Sections 143C-6-23 and 09 NCAC 03M requirements. Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of the Organization, it is not intended to, and does not, present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of the Organization.
Food commodities are expended when distributed to agencies. Distributed food is reported in the SEFSA under the Commodity Supplemental Food Program and the Emergency Food Assistance Program and is valued at the weighted-average wholesale value of one pound of donated product based on the national per pound price ($1.72) as provided by the most recent Feeding America Product Valuation Survey for the calendar year 2024.
