Notes to SEFA

The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the Schedule) includes the federal award activity of Madison District Public Schools under programs of the federal government for the year ended June 30, 2025. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of Madison District Public Schools, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of Madison District Public Schools.
The federal revenues reported in the June 30, 2025 financial statements are in agreement with the schedule of expenditures of federal awards.
The School District did not transfer any federal funds to subrecipients during the fiscal year.
See note 5 on the Notes to the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards fro chart/table
Adjustments on the schedule of expenditures of federal awards were due to: Grants Assistance Listing #84.367 Awards 230520 and Assistance Listing #84.010 Award 231530 - During the fiscal year, certain federal award amounts previously obligated were subsequently deobligated by the awarding agency. These deobligations represent funds returned to the federal agency due to being unspent. As a result, the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards reflects these adjustments by reducing the reported expenditures for the affected programs accordingly. These reductions do not represent disallowed costs or audit findings, but rather administrative or programmatic changes initiated by the awarding agency.
