Notes to SEFA
The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the Schedule) includes the federal award activity of Adventist Health System/West (Adventist Health) under programs of the federal government for the year ended December 31, 2024. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200 (2 CFR 200), Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of Adventist Health, it is not intended to and does not present the consolidated balance sheets, changes in operations and net assets, or cash flows of Adventist Health. Financial assistance received directly from federal agencies as well as financial assistance passed through from other agencies are included in the accompanying schedule. Adventist Health’s financial reporting entity is described in note 1(a) to Adventist Health’s consolidated financial statements.
In fiscal year 2024, Adventist Health received approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency related to the reimbursement of eligible expenditures of $37,618,249 incurred in previous fiscal years. These expenditures are included on the Scheule in the current year in accordance with guidance provided by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
