Notes to SEFA

The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the Schedule) includes the federal award activities of Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corporation under programs of the federal government for the year ended December 31, 2024. The information in the Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corporation, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corporation.
Expenditures reported on the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting. Such expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) makes energy assistance payments for participants in the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Assistance Listing Number 93.568, directly to the energy providers on behalf of entities administering the program. Because the Organization performs all intake functions and is liable for errors made in determining participant eligibility, such payments made by IHCDA to the providers, totaling $1,438,713, are included in federal expenditures in the accompanying Schedule.
Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corporation has not elected to use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under the Uniform Guidance.
During 2024, Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corporation did not receive donated personal protective equipment from federal sources.
