Title: NOTE 1 – BASIS OF PRESENTATION
Accounting Policies: The accompanying Schedule is presented on the modified accrual basis of accounting. Expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement.
De Minimis Rate Used: N
Rate Explanation: The Tribe elected not to use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024.
The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (the Schedule) includes the federal grant activity of the Cabazon Band of Cahuilla Indians (the Tribe), under programs of the federal government for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. The information reported in the Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of the Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance).
The Schedule includes federal awards received directly from federal agencies. The Tribe’s reporting entity is defined in Note 1 to the Tribe’s basic financial statements. Because the schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of the Tribe, it is not intended to, and does not, present the financial position of the Tribe.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many new federal programs have been established, and funding has been added to existing federal programs. Expenditures funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is denoted in the Schedule by the prefix COVID-19 in the federal program title.

Rate Explanation: The Tribe elected not to use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024.
The Assistance Listing Number (ALN) and the federal program titles listed in the Schedule were obtained from the federal funding agency or the U.S. General Services Administration’s System for Award Management (SAM), or SAM.gov.
The ALN is a five-digit number. The first two digits identify the federal funding agency, and the last three digits identify the specific federal program.
