Accounting Policies: The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the “Schedule”) includes the federal award activity of Southern Illinois University (the “University”) under programs of the federal government for the year ended June 30, 2024. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of 2 CFR Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of the University, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net position, or cash flows of the University. Expenditures reported on the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting. Such expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. Negative amounts shown on the Schedule represent adjustments or credits made in the normal course of business to amounts reported as expenditures in prior years. Pass-through entity identifying numbers are presented where available. The University has not elected to use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate as allowed under the Uniform Guidance.

During the year ended June 30, 2024, the Edwardsville campus expended $70,736 of the 2022-2023 Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program (84.033) and $35,635 of the
2022-2023 Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Program (84.007) in 2023-2024. The Edwardsville campus also spent $48,688 of FWS in 2023-
2024 that were carried back from 2024-2025. During the year ended June 30, 2024, the Carbondale campus expended $180,487 of the 2022-2023 FWS Program and carried forward $217,499 of the FWS Program to be spent in 2024-2025. The Carbondale campus also carried forward $44,934 of the 2023-2024 FSEOG Program to be spent in 2024-2025.
