Title: (1) Basis of Presentation Accounting Policies: Accrual Basis of Accounting De Minimis Rate Used: N Rate Explanation: The Conservancy has a negotiated indirect cost rate agreement with the Department of the Interior as the cognizant agency for indirect costs. As such, The Conservancy is not eligible to use the 10 percent de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under Uniform Guidance The accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (the Schedule) summarizes the federal expenditures of The Nature Conservancy (The Conservancy) under programs of the U.S. federal government for the year ended June 30, 2024. The amounts reported as federal expenditures were obtained from The Conservancy’s financial system. Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of The Conservancy, it is not intended to and does not present the consolidated financial position, changes in net assets and cash flows of The Conservancy. The Schedule includes all grants, contracts, and similar agreements entered into directly between The Conservancy and agencies and departments of the U.S. federal government or passed through directly to The Conservancy through agencies receiving federal funding. The schedule also includes the amounts awarded to subrecipients, which includes approximately $13.9 million of subawards to organizations assisting in project implementation in FY 2024. The Conservancy has a negotiated indirect cost rate agreement with the Department of the Interior as the cognizant agency for indirect costs. As such, The Conservancy is not eligible to use the 10 percent de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under Uniform Guidance.
Title: (2) Summary of significant accounting policies Accounting Policies: Accrual Basis of Accounting De Minimis Rate Used: N Rate Explanation: The Conservancy has a negotiated indirect cost rate agreement with the Department of the Interior as the cognizant agency for indirect costs. As such, The Conservancy is not eligible to use the 10 percent de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under Uniform Guidance For the purpose of the Schedule, expenditures for federal award programs are recognized on the accrual basis of accounting. Negative amounts on the Schedule are adjustments to expenditures reported in the prior year in the course of normal business. Full assistance listing numbers and pass-through numbers are presented when available.
