Title: Summary of Significant Accounting Policies Accounting Policies: The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the Schedule) includes the federal award activity of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) under programs of the federal government for the year ended December 31, 2023. The information in the Schedule is presented on the accrual basis of accounting. Consequently, amounts in the Schedule are recorded as expenditures when the obligations are incurred. Expenses are incurred using the cost accounting principles contained in Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Under those cost principles, certain types of expenses are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of the NCMEC, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of NCMEC. De Minimis Rate Used: N Rate Explanation: NCMEC has not elected to use the 10% de minimus cost rate allowed under the Uniform Guidance.
