Accounting Policies: The information in this schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirement for Federal Awards Subpart F, Chapter 69I-5, Schedule of Expenditures of State Financial Assistance, Rules of the Florida Department of Financial Services; and Chapter 10.550, Rules of the Florida Auditor General. Therefore, some amounts presented in this schedule may differ from amounts presented in, or used in the preparation of, the basic financial statements of the City of Tampa, Florida. The expenditures in the accompanying Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards and State Financial Assistance are presented using the modified accrual basis of accounting, except for the proprietary funds, which are presented on the accrual basis. The modified accrual basis recognizes expenditures in the period the associated liability is incurred, when matured and due, while under the accrual basis, expenses are recognized when incurred. Such expenditures are reported following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement.
