Accounting Policies: Expenditures reported on the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting. Such expenditures are recognized following, as applicable, either the cost principles in Office of Management and Budget Circular A-122, Cost Principles for Non-Profit Organizations, or the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement.

Rate Explanation: Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc. has elected to not use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate allowed under the Uniform Guidance.
The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal and state awards (the Schedule) includes the federal and state award activity of Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc. under programs of the federal and state governments for the year ended June 30, 2023. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of the Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance) and the State Single Audit Guidelines issued by the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc., it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc.

Funds from the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP) are awarded 75% as a grant, and 25% as a noninterest-bearing note payable. SHOP grant revenue and the associated notes payable proceeds are included in the federal expenditures presented in the Schedule. The amount reported as federal expenditures in the Schedule for SHOP for the year ended June 30, 2023 was calculated as follows:

The balance of SHOP notes payable outstanding at June 30, 2023 totaled $269,820.
