Title: CONTINGENCIES
Accounting Policies: The Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards includes the federal grant activity of the American Cancer Society, Inc. (ACS), for the year ended December 31, 2022. The information in this schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the schedule presents only a selected portion of operations of ACS, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, results and activities, changes in net assets or cash flows of ACS.
De Minimis Rate Used: N
Rate Explanation: The Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards is prepared on the accrual basis of accounting. ACS did not elect to use the 10% de minimis indirect cost rate permitted by the Uniform Guidance.
These Federal programs are subject to financial and compliance audits by grantoragencies which, if instances of material noncompliance are found, may result in disallowed expenditures and affect ACSs continued participation in specific programs. The amount, if any, of expenditures which may be disallowed by the grantor agencies cannot be determined at this time, although ACS expects such amounts, if any, to be immaterial.
