Title: BASIS OF PRESENTATION Accounting Policies: Expenditures reported in the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting, except for subrecipient expenditures, which are reported on the cash basis. When applicable, such expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. De Minimis Rate Used: Y Rate Explanation: The auditee used the de minimis cost rate. The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (Schedule) includes the federal grant activity of The Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Inc. (Food Bank) under programs of the federal government for the year ended June 30, 2022. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of the Food Bank, it is not intended to and does not present the financial positions, changes in net assets, or cash flows of the Food Bank.
Title: NONCASH AWARDS Accounting Policies: Expenditures reported in the Schedule are reported on the accrual basis of accounting, except for subrecipient expenditures, which are reported on the cash basis. When applicable, such expenditures are recognized following the cost principles contained in the Uniform Guidance, wherein certain types of expenditures are not allowable or are limited as to reimbursement. De Minimis Rate Used: Y Rate Explanation: The auditee used the de minimis cost rate. Nonmonetary assistance is reported in this Schedule at the fair value of the commodities received and disbursed. The Food Bank estimates fair value based on Feeding Americas annual calculation of wholesale per pound prices for federal commodities. At June 30, 2022, the Food Bank had food commodities totaling $947,643 in inventory.
