Period 4 is based on payments received from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021, with a period of availability of expenses and/or lost revenues from January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022, where unused expenditures and/or lost revenues from Period 3 may be applied for funds.

The accompanying schedule of expenditures of federal awards (the Schedule) includes the federal grant activity of Riverside Healthcare Association, Inc. and subsidiaries (the System) under programs of the federal government for the year ended December 31, 2022. The information in this Schedule is presented in accordance with the requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Therefore, some amounts presented in this schedule may differ from amounts presented in, or used in the preparation of, the basic consolidated financial statements. Because the Schedule presents only a selected portion of the operations of the System, it is not intended to and does not present the financial position, changes in net assets, or cash flows of the System.
Title: Department of Education Federal Direct Student Loans

Direct student loans include loans available to students (Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans) or parents of dependent students (Direct PLUS Loans) to pay for the cost of attending postsecondary educational institutions. The federal government is responsible for billings and collections of the loans. The System is only responsible for the performance of certain administrative functions withrespect to the Direct student loans, and accordingly, these loans are not included in its consolidated financial statements. Since this program is administered by the federal government, new loans made in the year ended December 31, 2022 are considered current year federal expenditures, whereas the outstanding loan balances are not. The total amount processed during 2022 is included on the schedule of expenditures of federal awards. It is not practicable to determine the balance of Direct student loansoutstanding to students and former students as of December 31, 2022.
